IT:

Sound: 

  • From the beginning when the child is going down the stairs towards the street a strong thunder is heard which just creates a terrifying feeling towards the audience showing something scary is going to happen. 

  • When the child starts running towards his boat they make it match with the rain drops, the background music and the speed of the child running. 

  • When the boat sinks in the sewer the music just stops and when the boy just looks and IT appears the music appears loudly making the audience panic and frighten. 

  • When the abandoned house appears a mystery sound making it show something scary is going to happen inside the house. 

  • When the photo proyector starts changing the photos at a continuous speed the music starts going faster and faster making the audience nervous. 

  • Near the end the old brother finds his little find and repeatedly he starts saying “you'll float to” with a laughing, quiet, little voice until he gets nervous and shouts it. 

  • At the end the clown appears shouting at the brother where the opening ends.

Editing: 

  • At the beginning there are different cuts as when the child is running through the street and the boat that is going down the water so we are able to see both perspectives.

  • When the boat goes down into the sewer there are two cuts to show the boat entering and the other to show the boat falling down. 

  • When the children are in the classroom and in the background the red balloon crosses the classroom it is edited in slow motion so the audience is able to see it. 

  • When they are inside the abandoned house looking at the photos there are many cuts when the clown appears in slow motion.

  • At the end we can see IT appears from below the water and goes directly towards the big brother in time-lapse making it a panicking moment and then it ends up being suspicious.

Camera: 

  • At the start, we can see a close up shot while the child is folding the paper boat.

  • When he is talking with his brother we can see they used a medium shot. 

  • When the child goes down the stairs they use a high angle shot so we are able to see the route the child is taking. 

  • As the boat enters the sewer it does a close up as it goes down. 

  • And later when the boy bends to look inside the sewer it does an extreme close up into the clown. 

  • It shows a long shot when they enter the tunnel as we can see the childrens whole figure. 

  • And then when they show the photos it changes from a long shot and then into a close up when the clown appears in the picture. 

  • As the high angle shot repeats when the child is running through the rain.
